Water, food and poverty: beyond the limits


Alain Vidal, the director of the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food gave an inspiring talk at the Rome Share Fair this week.  In his speech, he explained that the demands on water for more food and energy can be sustained, but only through a balanced approach to ensure that development of one part of the river basin system does not damage functions that are essential to others.
